SMaSH 2.0 (Bullion)

SMaSH 2.0 (Bullion)

SMaSH got its name from the English expression “single malt, single hop”. Hence, it is made of a single type of malt, in this case the Gambrinus ESB, and of a single strain of hop, the Bullion, the oldest high alpha-acid hop. The IPA designation, which usually announces an amber or red beer, offers here a blond and veiled beer with a pure ivory head. Its nose reveals sweet and honeyed malt aromas underlying a subtle bouquet of fruit and spice with a reminiscence of mango. The malty but well-balanced palate perfectly combines the smoothness of the malt, the fruit and the herbaceous bitterness induced by a cold infusion process.

Who it is for

The SMaSH au Bullion is without a doubt a delicious bouillon. This strain of hop, created in 1919 from a crossbreed between Manitoban and English genes, is one of the oldest mentioned in the brewing literature, particularly with regard to IPAs. Some even say the beer served at the famous “Prancing Pony” was hopped with this variety. Archeologists and Hobbits will certainly adore this version.
